Annotation
A film about a misunderstood artist and his struggle with mental health issues. Content: the film opens with the artist's funeral. His friends look at his drawings and photographs. We see the artist in his apartment, reminiscing about his childhood and enjoying waking dreams. Several episodes from the artist's childhood, with a special focus on his relationship with his midwife - she takes care of him, reads picture books with biblical themes. He dreams of opening an exhibition of his paintings, the public welcomes him and enjoys his paintings. A dying bird flaps its wings (the plan is repeated later). Memories again: the artist's grandmother has died, the family at the grave. The artist enters a mental health institution. After discharge, he wants to organise an exhibition of his paintings but the application is turned down. A woman appears, symbolising death. The artist puts a powder, probably poison, into a glass and drinks it. In roles: Haralds Elceris, Viktors Balandins, Jana Ftatute, Kaspars Krastiņš, Austra Pudzēna, Zita Druvaskalna, Jānis Druvaskalns.
